OBAMA, U.S. STATE DEPT BETRAYAL
"We do not see a need for both sides to
recognize Israel as a Jewish state"
Joint Resolution Needed for Israel
DEMAND CONGRESS ACT
For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. Isaiah 62:1
URGENT ACTION ALERT: Israel has announced suspension of U.S.-sponsored peace negotiations with the Palestinian Authority in the wake of last week's announcement of a unity agreement between rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas.
The top-level inner cabinet of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ministers "decided unanimously that it will not negotiate with a Palestinian government that incorporates Hamas, a terrorist organization that seeks the destruction of Israel," said a statement issued after an Israeli emergency cabinet meeting. Israel also plans to introduce economic sanctions against the PA, to reportedly include withholding tax revenues collected by Israel on behalf of the Palestinians.
Enough is enough!
Israeli officials said the government decision had been carefully crafted so as not to rule out a possible resumption of peace talks if, in the next five weeks, PA President Mahmoud Abbas fails to agree with Hamas on the composition of a unity government as scheduled. At the same time, Israel's position is designed to make plain that it will not negotiate with any Palestinian government that rests on Hamas support – with or without Hamas ministers in the PA cabinet. Palestinian sources have stated Abbas intends to form a government of technocrats featuring no Hamas or Fatah ministers.
Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said there was no chance for Israeli-Palestinian peace as long as Abbas's Fatah faction pursued the reconciliation deal with Hamas. He said the deal meant Israel "has no partner" to negotiate with and signified a move toward Hamas terrorists gaining greater influence in the West Bank.
Liberman said Israel wasn't surprised by the Fatah-Hamas pact, as Abbas had tried several times to blow up the Israeli-Palestinian talks during the last few months. While international pressure on Israel to continue engaging in the current U.S.-brokered peace talks will doubtless persist, even Washington has had to acknowledge Jerusalem's position. "It is clear that as soon as Abbas chose to unite with Hamas, it is impossible to make peace with Israel," the foreign minister told Israel Radio.
In a series of fast-moving events over recent weeks, Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority gained complete control of U.S. Sec. of State John Kerry's "peace" agenda, putting paid to any pretense of even-handed dealings with Israel.
Abbas made a public display of signing applications for Palestinian admission to 15 United Nations bodies, including treaties on human, civil, disabled and women's rights and the Fourth Geneva Convention. This provocation was in direct violation of previous PA assurances precisely against such unilateral action.
And of course, it provoked the desired effort from Kerry – more "warnings," calls and unremitting pressure from Washington directed at ISRAEL to capitulate to NEW Palestinian demands!
Yes indeed, the Palestinian Authority had set out a whole menu of new conditions for agreeing to extend the peace talks with Israel after April, announced by Fatah and PA officials in Ramallah. Abbas had given Kerry his word that he would continue to negotiate at least until the late April deadline for the conclusion of peace talks, but a promise from Abbas is worth nothing.
On Wednesday afternoon, Hamas and Fatah announced a reconciliation deal which would see the formation of a technocratic unity government within five weeks, and new elections six months later, after years of bitter rivalry. Similar agreements have been announced several times in recent years, but not implemented.
U.S. State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki described the news as "disappointing in terms of the content as well as the timing." Speaking shortly after Israel canceled a scheduled Wednesday evening session of talks, Psaki said that the State Department understood why Israel found it difficult to continue negotiating following the announcement. "It's hard to see how Israel can be expected to sit down and negotiate with a group that denies its right to exist," Psaki told reporters. She said that the State Department believes that a Hamas-Fatah reconciliation would "certainly complicate the process."
Jerusalem rightly believes the U.S. has been too soft on Abbas to date, allowing him to evade substantive progress in the negotiations. Israel contends the PA president would not have dared enter the unity pact with Hamas if the Obama administration had been firmer and fairer.
With NO effective pressure applied or discipline insisted upon by the Obama administration, the Palestinians have abused the process throughout. The Jerusalem Post reported that two recent demands included Israeli recognition of the pre-1967 lines as the future borders of a Palestinian state, with east Jerusalem as its capital, and the release of 1,200 more Palestinian prisoners.
The PA further demanded the Israeli release of three senior terrorism prisoners: Marwan Barghouti, Ahmed Sa'adat and Fuad Shobaki, the Palestinian News Network has reported.
Expanded conditions also include a complete cessation of settlement construction, the imposition of PA sovereignty over Area C in the West Bank, a halt to Israeli military operations in PA-controlled territories, and "reunion" permits for some 15,000 Palestinians.
PA demands included reopening the Gaza border crossings, lifting the blockade on the Gaza Strip, and permitting the return of deported Palestinians who were removed to the Gaza Strip and Europe after they sought shelter from the IOF in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem in 2002.
Remember – these outrageous "conditions" would only get the Palestinians back to where they had already promised to be – in peace negotiations! When YOU stood with Israel against this mugging by the PA, which has had Kerry on the run, the Palestinians turned to their TERROR partners, HAMAS, to ratchet up their threats…
The Palestinians ONLY respect and understand strength.
Israeli aircraft struck targets in the Gaza Strip in March hours after Palestinian terrorists fired a Kassam rocket at the coastal city of Ashkelon. The rocket fell south of the city. It did not cause any damage and there were no casualties reported.
"Israeli Air Force aircraft targeted 5 terror sites, 4 terror sites in the northern Gaza Strip and an additional location in the southern Gaza Strip," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in an email statement. "Direct hits were confirmed."
After knocking down recent Gaza rocket attacks, interdicting a massive arms shipment to Hezbollah/Hamas, and responding to the Obama administration's diplomatic muggings, Israel POSTPONED its scheduled release of dozens of Palestinian terrorist prisoners.
NOW, AGREE and STAND WITH ISRAEL as she suspends "peace talks" with the Palestinians, who are PROVING in their unity government ploy with Hamas that they are NOT partners in peace with Israel!
DEMAND this action demarcate our State Dept. likewise SUSPENDING this initiative, and acting to restore fairness to the unbalanced, pro-Palestinian "diplomatic" relations presently being used to isolate and bully Israel by the United States.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has faced widening resistance within his governing coalition over the release of convicted Palestinian terrorists, had told ministers from his Likud Party that the last of four waves of prisoners "could be an issue of a couple days. Either it will be finalized or it will blow up."
Mr. Netanyahu said any deal to extend the U.S.-sponsored peace talks would require a quid pro quo from the Palestinians and would be put to the full Israeli cabinet for a vote.
Israel agreed to release a total of 104 prisoners – many of them convicted of murdering Israelis – in four waves at the start of peace talks with the Palestinians at the end of last July. In return, the Palestinians promised to not abandon the talks and to freeze efforts to push for statehood recognition with the United Nations. But their terrorism AND double-dealing at the U.N. AND their constant revisions of "conditions" for participation in the talks have been ongoing… NOW we see AGAIN what such promises by the PA are worth!
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has been pushing, so far without success, to get Israel and the Palestinian Authority to accept a U.S. framework of principles for an agreement.
U.S. mediators, trying to defuse the standoff over the prisoner releases, floated ideas for new Israeli concessions – of course – such as additional prisoner releases in return for Palestinian cooperation in extending the talks.
However, Netanyahu's government has come under rising domestic criticism with each concession granted AND each successive wave of prisoner releases. And as the latest Abbas ploy shows, NO Israeli concession will EVER be enough to stop Palestinian aggression.
YOU and many who love the Jewish People have insisted the Israeli concessions MUST stop. Just hours prior to Barack Obama and Mahmoud Abbas meeting in the U.S. White House earlier this month, the Palestinians did two things pointing ineluctably to the reconciliation with HAMAS TERRORISTS. They launched a series of rocket attacks on Israel population centers from Gaza, and their titular leader Abbas publicly confirmed yet again that he would NOT recognize Israel's right to exist as a Jewish State.
These belligerent acts were perpetrated shortly after Obama and the U.S. State Dept. announced their betrayal of the Jewish State in Palestinian "peace" negotiations. Arab terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired more than 70 rockets at southern Israel, 30 within a few hours. It was the heaviest barrage since the November 2012 conflict in Gaza ended.
Coincidence – or as Jerusalem is now openly asking, did Obama embolden Israel's enemies against her?
Obama seems ALWAYS to do his best to undermine Israel and empower the Arabs… He is carving a new course of betrayal of the Jewish State because months of peace talks coordinated by his Secretary of State John Kerry thus far have been fruitless in the face of Palestinian intransigence over Israel's right to exist. Testifying before the House, Kerry noted that the United Nations had recognized Israel as a Jewish state, as did Yasir Arafat, the former leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization.
"I think it's a mistake for some people to be raising it again and again as the critical decider of their attitude toward the possibility of a state and peace," Kerry said.
Be sure you focus on this: according to Kerry and Obama, the long standing insistence of the U.N. and "best conscience" of the West to ensure Israel's right to exist as a homeland for the Jewish People is "a mistake" as a "critical decider of their attitude toward… peace."
As we NOW SEE, militant Palestinians – including Hamas terrorists – would agree with Kerry and Obama.
Who will properly hold Obama and Kerry responsible?
Since this was the heaviest attack in the last two years – the number of rockets fired at Israel from Gaza had been diminishing – rockets have been continuing to be lobbed into Israel on a continuous basis…
Just last week four rockets were fired at Sha'ar Hanegev regional Council. Shortly after the initial salvo, three or more rockets were fired from Gaza; one hit in Sderot, others outside the city and in nearby Eshkol Regional Council. IDF spokesmen said that Israel regarded Hamas as responsible for the rocket attacks.
In this year's earlier attacks, the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad also claimed responsibility for having fired the rockets.
An Israeli military spokesman said eight rockets hit urban civilian areas including Sderot, and that a number of others were successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Israeli warplanes responded by targeting Islamic Jihad positions; Israeli Defense Forces responded with artillery fire, striking both the north and south of Gaza.
There reportedly were nine Israeli retaliatory strikes throughout the coastal strip on facilities operated by Islamic Jihad's military wing, the al-Quds Brigades, and on targets belonging to Hamas's military wing.
The Israeli military said it had targeted the militants after they fired mortars at its troops. The al-Quds Brigades said the Israeli soldiers had crossed into the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "We won't flinch. We will continue to hurt those who try to hurt us."
Obama's betrayal of Israel is now naked and blunt. The United States' official position was announced that there is no need for the Palestinian Authority (PA) to recognize Israel as a Jewish state as part of a peace agreement, according to remarks made by State Dept. spokeswoman Jen Psaki.
This is a despicable reversal of American policy and standing assurances protecting Israel's right to exist as a sovereign Jewish state that has emboldened the Palestinians’ present aggression. Congress MUST assert its powers and forcefully clarify the United States' reliability and honor as a geopolitical and moral ally in the never-ending war against evil.
Demand Congress enact a Joint Resolution AT ONCE standing with Israel and REBUKING Obama's treachery!
American and multi-lateral policy historically, U.N. Resolution 242, the Oslo and Camp David Accords ALL have affirmed the obligation of the intransigent Palestinians to forswear terrorism and acknowledge the legitimacy of the Jewish State of Israel, and for all nations to respect the prerogatives of Israel and Palestinian authorities to negotiate their own peace and border treaties. These solemn and binding agreements MUST prevail over Barack Obama's dangerous duplicity and pro-Palestinian proclivities.
U.S. long-standing assurances, support and previous binding resolutions that Israel shall negotiate her own borders with her Arab enemies, once they cease hostilities, must stand – unimpeded by Obama's rank betrayal – if America is to have any international credibility, is to merit any respect with decent humanity, and is to retain any favor with God for honoring His Word.
Genesis 12:3 "And I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all nations of the earth be blessed."
Simultaneously, Iran and other Muslim states continue their renewed campaign of defamation AND aggression against Israel over alleged Palestinian lands. Any further compromise on unilateral Palestinian "statehood" or Israeli territorial boundaries imperils Israel and could result in the total annihilation of our greatest Middle Eastern ally. The 1967 "borders" Obama still is attempting to dictate to Israel are in fact the armistice lines of repeated Arab attacks against the Jewish state, are INDEFENSIBLE, AND NOT rightly the basis of any negotiation for permanent Israeli borders.
The State Department's Psaki, who spoke to the Palestinian Authority (PA)-based Arabic language Al-Quds newspaper, said, "The American position is clear, Israel is a Jewish state. However, we do not see a need that both sides recognize this position as part of the final agreement."
Psaki's comments came ahead of a trip by Abbas to Washington on March 17, where he met Obama as part of the U.S. push to achieve a peace agreement between the two sides. Obama's Secretary of State John Kerry, who is on a relentless personal mission to force a peace agreement, is more likely to BLAME Israel for the PA-Hama-Fatah reconciliation ploy than he is to deal realistically with Palestinian duplicity. The Congress MUST compel Kerry to stand down!
The present impasse and "breakdown" in the Kerry-Obama "peace talks" will be much decried, but their halt will do more GOOD than HARM! It seems YOUR prayers and advocacy are being answered, as there has been a rising spirit among the Israeli cabinet to resist diplomatic accommodations that lead to capitulation to evil. KEEP PRAYING this whole flawed and malicious "peace process" cannot go forward. Please pray the further progress of a terrorist "reconciliation" government of the Palestinian Authority partnering the PA-Hamas-Fatah reveals the truth to the world about Palestinian intentions toward Israel! Pray the Israeli cabinet HOLDS THE LINE and VOTES DOWN bad negotiations, which will SUSPEND the Kerry-Obama peace talks, so clearly NOT in Israel's interest.
"Rather than seek to weaken Israel by coercing it to recede to indefensible borders in order to make room for a Palestinian terrorist state in its historic heartland, the US should abandon its support for Palestinian terrorists and ensure that Israel has the power to defend itself in a region marked by unprecedented instability and danger," notes strategic analyst Caroline Glick.
Please pray for Netanyahu – for his protection and that he will be able to continue to withstand the enormous pressure exerted upon him now by the Obama administration because of the Palestinians humiliating Kerry. We who love Israel must stand firm until the destruction passes us by. One of the chief instruments of this White House is intimidation and threats. Together with mobilizing counterweight on Obama from Congress, we need the Lord to intervene. This is a crucial time of testing. Pray Netanyahu will not collapse under the weight of the incessant duplicity and badgering as did Rabin and Sharon. Please pray protection against lies from the Leftist media in Israel, as well as the United States.
Pray as well that ANY "negotiations" necessary to accommodating the PA linked with Hamas will be rejected. Israel has NO peace partner in the Palestinians. Pray there is no making concessions to evil; no making concessions of land or settlements, or the freeing of any further terrorists from Israeli jails. Suspension of negotiations with bad actors will block these destructive talks from going further – and protect Israel. We should pray that every stage that this process may be halted by the Arm of the Lord. All observers in Israel admit that enormous pressure is being exerted from the U.S. government to deal unfairly with the Jewish State, in political appeasement of the Palestinian Authority. We need YOU to BLAST Congress and insist they act boldly to protect Israel's ability to defend herself, and the West!
Make no mistake: the very survival of the Jewish state is imperiled by the Obama administration's duplicity and faithlessness! And it is NOT only injustice in dealing with "Palestinian statehood" demands…
Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the Iranian parliament's chairman of its foreign policy and national security committee, has made clear that Iran WILL NOT halt nuclear enrichment essential for weaponization, especially since Barack Obama has kindly removed all meaningful resistance against Iran's aggression… and along with their nuclear ambitions, the Ayatollahs continue to export terrorism!
As evidence, RIGHT NOW, details continue to emerge that Iran weapons shipments to Gaza terrorists are far more imperiling to Israel's security than global media reports. The most recent shipment of illicit arms intercepted by the reviled Israeli blockade contained 181 heavy mortars, 400,000 bullets, and dozens of M-302 rockets that can strike almost anywhere in Israel. With its weapons of terror exposed to the world, Iran can no longer deny its proxy war against Israeli civilians. America MUST stand with Israel!
But because of recent inept AND malicious Obama-Kerry foreign policy moves, the national security of our greatest ally in the region Israel is in red-alert jeopardy – AND SO IS OURS!
We need to advocate strongly on behalf of Israel and demand Obama SUSPEND the so-called "peace process" – BACK OFF pressuring Netanyahu to make dangerous concessions to the Palestinians, and support Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) in her fight for TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY from the Obama administration regarding its "deal" with Iran. That agreement so far has served only to embolden our enemy with increased arrogance and new determination to go NUCLEAR.
WE MUST DEMAND S. 1881 FOR A NUCLEAR WEAPON FREE IRAN!
As observed by foreign affairs expert Caroline Glick, Obama is
NOW Obama seeks to repudiate our long standing assurances of sovereignty for Israel and binding multi-lateral agreements with the Jewish state and the Palestinians, and instead position Israel as an international pariah state confronted with intractable enemies dedicated to her annihilation, one rapidly reaching unimpeded nuclear capability.
On the multi-lateral front, Israel is still contending with unilaterally defined Palestinian "statehood" in a rogue UN resolution and an unremitting international campaign of defamation against Israel. Such a resolution is unlawful outside the context of a peace treaty with Israel. Such a proposal is an overt violation of prior UN Resolution 242, which requires a negotiated settlement between Israel and Palestinian representatives before any UN action may be considered on a Palestinian state. Such a proposal explicitly repudiates the Oslo Accords.
Yet Obama PROMOTES the Palestinians in gathering support for this travesty, snickers at calling Netanyahu a liar while posturing as an ally of Israel – and leaves Israel twisting in the wind with Iran and battling terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank. Is this any way to treat an ally?
There is a liberal majority of the Democrat party that no longer stands foursquare with Israel – and under the "leadership" of Obama, the betrayal of Israel is becoming party policy.
IT MUST NOT BECOME AMERICA'S POLICY.
CONGRESS MUST NOT DISHONOR OUR NATION BY BESMIRCHING OUR RIGHTFUL HISTORY OF SUPPORT FOR THE JEWISH STATE.
AMERICA STANDS WITH ISRAEL. PLEASE PRAY AND ACT FOR THE SAFETY OF ISRAEL…
